• The student will utilize computer applications and develop ""touch"" keyboarding skills, proper techniques, speed and accuracy in keyboarding for business, professional, and personal use. The student will become familiar with the use of the computer as a tool for both work and personal applications, and computer-related careers. Course content will include word processing, spreadsheets, graphing, desktop management and electronic communication. This course also meets the needs of college-bound students by fulfilling a requirement of many selective colleges.
  • This course satisfies the requirements that exist in the Kentucky program of studies for “060199 Web Page Design.” Students analyze the structure of the worldwide web, apply basic principles of web documents and HTML, and develop multi-media web pages. Course content will include the understanding of hypertext and web structures. Equipment such as scanners, digital and video cameras, and sound recording devices will be utilized through hands-on instruction. In addition students will gain hands on experience in graphic development. They will use the following software packages:

    • Flash CS3
    • PhotoShop CS3
    • Joomla 1.5X
    • HTML 5
    • Adobe Presenter 7

    Leadership development will be provided through FBLA.

  • Digital Video and Digital Media provides a hands-on introduction to digital media, with a focus on digital video. It is one of the core courses offered by the Academy of Information Technology.

    Digital Video and Digital Media guides students through all phases of digital video production, including pre-production and planning, executing and managing a video shoot, and techniques of editing and post-production. Students explore methods of sharing and broadcasting digital videos, including multiple platform versions, CDs and DVDs, and web delivery. They also learn about the latest methods of spreading the word about a digital video, including methods of using online search engines to lead viewers to the production.

    Finally, students have a chance to discover the types of careers that exist in digital media and design today.
