Looking for information about gifted and talented children?  Unsure where to start? Visit one or more of the web sites listed below to find the most up-date-date information about the special needs of gifted students!

LexKAGE, the Lexington Chapter of KAGE website is www.lexkage.com This is the local chapter of KAGE and   provides ooportunities for parents and students to learn more about giftedness.

The National Association for Gifted Children can be found at www.nagc.orgThis site provides general information as well as legislative updates and links to divisions within NAGC that can provide information about research, current trends, and social-emotional needs.  It is a great place to start!

Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted is a non-profit organization committed to fostering the affective development of gifted youth.  Explore www.sengifted.org to find articles on social and emotional development as well as information about grant programs, staff training opportunities, and other services.

Perhaps the most comprehensive web resource on gifted children can be found at Hoagies’ Gifted Education Page (www.hoagiesgifted.com ).  Information, reflections, stories, professional resources, and much more are at your fingertips as you browse this site. 

Wondering what’s happening with the gifted and talented students in your city and around the Commonwealth?  The Kentucky Association for Gifted Education (KAGE) http://www.wku.edu/kage/ and the Center for Gifted Studies at Western Kentucky University (www.wku.edu/gifted/) are the sites to visit.

Looking for the information about giftedness, multi-cultural issues, and dual diagnoses such as learning disabilities and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder?  Your best bet is http://www.ericdigests.org/ , where you will find the latest research and theory as well as possible interventions for these children…and much more.

In search of information on highly and profoundly gifted children?  Check out the Davidson Institute for Talent Development at www.davidsongifted.org or www.davidsoninstitute.org to find information about exceptionally bright youngsters, resources, and services provided by the Institute.

Dr. Linda Silverman is recognized as an expert in the field of gifted education, and her website www.(www.gifteddevelopment.com) provides helpful articles as well as information about identification, assessment, learning styles, and educational interventions for gifted youth.

The Roeper Review, a journal on gifted education, is recognized as a source for the most current research in the field.  Visit www.apa.org/ed/tblofcontents68.html to view articles and back issues or to subscribe to the journal.

The Tiered Curriculum Project site from the University of Indiana contains differentiated lesson K through 12 for Math, Science and Language Arts.  http://www.doe.in.gov/exceptional/gt/tiered_curriculum/welcome.html

Internet4Classrooms, i4c, http://www.internet4classrooms.com/di.htm, is a site that helps teachers use the internet effectively.  It contains information on Learning Styles, Instructional Theory, Practical Tips for the Classroom, Sample Units and Lessons and lots of links and information about differentiation.

Manhattan Beach Unified School District has a very comprehensive website, http://www.teachingwithpurpose.com/differentiated_instruction.htm containing many and varied resources for parent and teacher about differentiated instruction.

Genius Denied Newsletter at www.GeniusDenied.com contains Tips for Parents.
